My dad finally decided to start reloading for his .308 gas gun. He will mostly be using the rifle for hunting up to 300 yards and maybe a putt putt or two using 165 grain bullets. What powders, that are currently more available, do you suggest for him to use?
Maybe keep an eye out for IMR4064. Otherwise it’s buy whatever is on the Hodgson list whenever it pops up
when I put mine together, I started off with CFE223 as I had it for my 6Arc… its a little sooty but it works well so far and seems to be available reasonably
IMR 4064 has always been the “go-to” for .308. And unlike Varget, it’s still relatively easy to find.
Do you need another confirmation for 4064?
Worked great for me with 168’s, 175’s and 178’s.
Thank you to everyone who responded, I will keep an eye for IMR 4064.
