With considerable interest in a Friday afternoon/evening training, we’ve decided to offer an inexpensive crash-course intro to PRS matches. This is geared to new shooters / shooters new to competition. This is NOT a comprehensive training course; it is intended to ease the nerves of first (or second) time match participants, ensure they meet minimal levels of preparedness, are familiar with match safety standards, and have a basic understanding of how to effectively shoot from props.
Training will be conducted by Precision Rifle Series, Mid-West Regional Champion, Francis Colon.
For a Comprehensive Competition Preparation Clinic (which would be a great follow-on to this intro class), intended to develop and improve competitive skills, keep an eye on the Marksmanship Training Center course offerings for up coming classes. (http://www.marksmanshiptrainingcenter.com/courses–events.html).
Curriculum will include:
- Zero confirmation.
- Basic stage preparation.
- Typical RO/stage commands.
- Safety/movement on the clock.
- Basic obstacle strategies.
- Basic gear/equipment employment.
- Practice stage and data check (300, 500, 700, 1000yd).
What to bring:
- 40-50 rounds of ammunition.
- Rifle capable of minimum 1.5moa accuracy with optic having target/tactical turrets and a reticle designed for holds.
- Rifle/ammunition ballistic data.
- Eye Pro & Ear Pro.
